BBQ's in the Park - is a team effort from all Elks to help with the Tuesday Evening at the Atascadero Lake park that the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce sponsors during the summer months. To give you an idea of what we prepared and served on those 11 Tuesday's and we could have not done it without you all. Approximately 5,009 people were served, cooked 3,200 chicken halves, cooked 1600 lbs. of top block beef, 400 cans of beans and 500 loaves of bread. So, there you go, it's a big job and we need you next year!
Colony Days - is a community tradition with a parade and crafts. The Elks take part in the celebration by having a beer booth and our famous pork sandwiches, along with hot dogs and soft drinks. Joe's "Little Train" is a treat for the little kids during the parade and at the Sunken Gardens. Dinner for Two - is consider the next biggest fund raiser for the Lodge. We all have a blast on this night! You have a chance to win $3,000, bid at a Silent Auction and a chance to win the Wagon Raffle with wine and goodies. This event is usually sold out and over 180 people attend. Drug Awareness - is sponsored by the Elks during their annual essay contest in the Atascadero School District. Each year there is a theme and the essay is open to 5th and 5th grade students. NO, it is not that hot. We get the breeze coming from the lake and sitting in the shade under the huge oak tree with a cold glass of lemonade is so relaxing! That's not all folks, you will be treated with some delicious ribs cooked by the BBQ crew with all the fixins! Grad Night - Bingo is sponsored by the Elks during the Atascadero High School Senior's Grad Night. The event is held at the Kennedy Fitness Center and it was a Boxer's Shorts Night for a Bingo! It was a popular night since everyone wanted one of those Boxer Shorts and the crew was busy from 10pm to 2am in the morning! This is a very worthwhile activity for the high school graduates. Hoop Shoot - is held during December at the Atascadero Junior High School gymnasium. This is a popular event with boy and girls in three age divisions. The first place winners will advance to the Elks West Central Coast District Hoop Shoot, with winners moving up to the State Shoot and the opportunity to move up to the Regional Shoot then compete for the National Championship. Joe's Little Train - is a fund raiser and our way of letting the community know that the Elks Care and Elks Share. The "Little Train" has been on many adventures trips such as: K-9 Day at the Park, Colony Days, Children's Day, and many other community events in Atascadero.

The enablers work with these handicapped children who are 4th, 5th and 6th grade students during recess or an after school activity.
